DESCRIPTION: In 1997, Rustan Group of Companies (RGOC) signed an exclusive licensing agreement to develop Starbucks Retail business in the Philippines through the Rustan Coffee Corporation. In December 4, 1997, the first store opened at 6750 Ayala Avenue. Since then, 180 more Starbucks Coffee stores have continued to serve perfect cups of coffee, creating the "Starbucks Experience" with many Filipinos even from the distant cities of Baguio and Cebu. Founded in 1971, Starbucks Coffee International began in the quaint Pike Place Market, Seattle. Today, Starbucks is considered to be the leading retailer, roaster and brand specialty coffee with almost 11,000 stores in more than 47 countries all over the world. | |
