DESCRIPTION: The Rushurgent Working Group (RWG) is one of the research groups at the National Institute of Geological Sciences in UP Diliman. The group came into being on 22 February 1992 when Dr. Graciano P. Yumul, Jr. put together a dynamic group of people with different fields of interest. Our research interests include: 1. Investigation of lithosphere - asthenosphere interactions 2. Basement complexes of the Philippines 3. Precious and base metal mineralizations 4. Tectonics- and volcano-related natural hazards 5. Geodynamic reconstruction 6. Volcano-tectonics 7. Geophysical explorations 8. Developing of instruction materials for primary, secondary and tertiary - level teachers 9. Climate change adaptation 10.
