DESCRIPTION: ABOUT TOBYS SPORTS Tobys started as a sole proprietorship organized by Mr. Roberto S. Claudio, a graduate of De la Salle University. The firm, Tobys, was registered with the Bureau of Domestic Trade on July 13, 1978 and was officially opened on October 07, 1978. The name, Tobys, was taken from the nickname of Mr. Roberto S. Claudios eldest son, who is now the Manager of Operations. The firm, originally known as Tobys Forms and Shapes, was initially engaged in the merchandising of Walt Disney Toys and Mickey Mouse Hats. The founder, Mr. Roberto S. Claudio, saw the potential of sports retailing in the Philippines, and by 1979 Tobys embarked on its expansion by introducing the sport of skateboarding, and by increasing its product line to include various other sporting equipment and sports servicing.
