DESCRIPTION: The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) is located at the main campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia. It occupies two buildings (G08 and G09A) which are strategically located near the Sungai Dua entrance. SBS was one of the pioneering schools established in Universiti Pulau Pinang located at the Malayan Teachers Training College in 1969. In 1971, it was relocated to the building known as the "long house" in the Minden Campus. SBS was again relocated to the present building, G08 in early 1979. In 1995, a newer building, G09 was completed to sustain the rapid increase in the number of staff and students which required more laboratory areas and office space. Today, SBS has over 40 full-time, highly qualified personnel with expertise in various fields of biological sciences. Academic staff is well supported by technical staff, instructors and science officers for both teaching and research purposes, providing up-to-date dan quality course offerings in biology.
