Banana Leaf, San Juan, Philippines |
Updated: 10/2005 |
DESCRIPTION: Banana Leaf opened in Manila on August 8,2001 in Greenbelt 1,Makati. A Hong Kong franchise,it was the first of its kind in the Philippines, set with a mission to educate and expose locals and expatriates to the exotic tastes of authentic Southeast Asian food under one roof.Essentially a celebration of Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai and Indian culinary traditions. The wide acceptance of the concept brought on the opening of a second and third outlet in The Podium (Ortigas Center) and in Alabang Town Center, respectively.
In 2004, in response to the growing awareness and popularity of modern Southeast Asian culture, Banana Leaf expanded its dining experience to an Asian Café in Glorietta 4. The Asian Café introduces a more casual dining style, while continuing to offer the same authentic flavors as the first three outlets. Their unique dishes include an interesting assortment of individual rice toppings, noodle soups,& appetizers.
