DESCRIPTION: A privately held company of D. George Harris & Associates, U. S. Silica grew from the merger of Ottawa Silica Co. and Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corp. in 1987. With a history that dates back to the early 1900¿s, the marketing and production strengths of the core organization combined with the entrepreneurial spirit of the Harris group, makes the future look bright. Currently the Silica Sand, Kaolin Clay and Aplite mineral lines service a number of strategic markets such as the; Glass, Foundry, Matrix Minerals, Construction, and Fillers and Extenders. With an aggressive sales and marketing group, our associates reach out to new opportunities as well as our current valued customers. U. S. Silica is an industry leader in achieving ISO Certification at all of its major plants. In the plants that are not currently registered, we operate under the same set of high standards and ISO guidelines for our customers confidence in a consistent and superior product. | |
