DESCRIPTION: Encouraged by the performance of its Delhi gateway, express and logistics company ¿ DHL India ¿ is contemplating to make Delhi a regional hub for the Saarc region. DHL has restructured its workforce in India and plans to offer a unified brand identity to customers in the next three years. DHL forged a joint venture company ¿ DHL Danzas Lemuir ¿ with a local partner to address the logistics market last year. Post global restructuring in 2003, DHL is now providing total express logistics and freight solutions under the DHL brand. Earlier, the Deutsche Post World Net-owned business involved brands Danzas and Deutsche post Euro Express besides DHL. Mr Callen said that DHL India cannot comment on the possibility of buying out the local partner¿s equity in DHL Danzas Lemuir. DHL also had a joint venture earlier ¿ it entered India through a partnership with AFL Ltd, which was bought out in 2002. | |
