DESCRIPTION: About IRIN: IRIN (Integrated Regional Information Networks) is a news agency that provides specialist news about humanitarian issues in Africa and Central Asia. Based in Nairobi, it distributes news to more than 25,000 subscribers by e-mail and to a much wider audience through its website www.irinnews.org. IRIN forms part of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). PlusNews is a specialist news service within IRIN about HIV/AIDS. It is aimed at organisations and individuals involved in the fight against AIDS in Africa and individuals and community groups involved in helping people living with AIDS on the continent.
