DESCRIPTION: Sherwood Forest Camp, established in 1937, is a private not-for-profit, United Way funded organization. Our camp is located in the Missouri Ozark Mountains, near Lesterville, 100 miles south of St. Louis. The terrain offers the opportunity to explore forests, meadows, a spring fed river, a 15-acre lake, creeks, a mud cave, and 1000-foot mountain. Our camp facilities include cabins, a dining hall, a multi purpose building, a health center with an on-site registered nurse, outdoor chapel, the adventure tree, teams challenge course, an archery range, campfire circle, and arts and crafts barn. Sherwood Forest Camp is a pioneer in Outdoor Education, establishing the first program in the Midwest in 1948. | |
