DESCRIPTION:
Legal Services for Cape Cod and Islands, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which provides free civil legal services to low-income and elderly people on Cape Cod, the Islands, and eastern Plymouth County. LSCCI's current priorities include housing: homelessness, illegal lockouts, subsidized housing evictions, and affordable housing development; government benefits: TAFDC, food stamps, EAEDC, emergency assistance, medicaid, unemployment, veteran's benefits, and disability benefits; family law: abuse prevention, divorce, custody, child and spousal support, and state intervention; AIDS/HIV work: estate planning, access to health care and other benefits, and discrimination; and elder law: housing, government benefits, social security, disability, nursing homes, home equity conversions, medicaid and medicare. LSCCI is proud of its many accomplishments in health care, housing, discrimination, and family law.
