DESCRIPTION: A statewide Association seeks full-time director for a newly created consumer protection program, Florida Watch. Florida Watch is a program designed for public education, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization on consumer law and insurance issues. It will be based on credible research and proven advocacy techniques. If not already a resident of Tallahassee, Florida, applicant must be willing to relocate. This position¿s duties include: 1. managing the Florida Watch program operations, 2. coordinating the on-going research conducted for the project, (i.e. keep current files regarding state and national insurance issues, prepare minor reports and position papers on legislative/regulatory insurance decisions, monitor formal complaints by Florida consumers) 3. conducting overall media strategy, (i.e. coordinating/facilitating press conferences, writing press releases, OP Ed¿s, letters to editor, etc¿, fielding media calls, building relationships with statewide media, creating pr | |
