DESCRIPTION: A FACE THE WORLD COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE Face The World, a nonprofit educational exchange foundation, offers international students the opportunity to study in the United States while living with an American host family. A national network of Community Representatives coordinates our Semester and Academic Year Programs. These Representatives select schools in their community and work closely with local families as they befriend and counsel the international students placed in their care. The job of a Community Representative is challenging. It is also quite rewarding as it enables the Representative to make a personal contribution to the community through the enrichment of youth, the introduction of educational and cultural activities, and the promotion of cross-cultural understanding and tolerance.
