DESCRIPTION: Washington Inventory Service (WIS) evolved from Grocery Inventory Service, a private company founded by Jack L Washington in San Diego, CA in 1953. We furnish nationwide inventory countng services for major retail, grocery, drug, discount, and department store chains as well as thousands of smaller retail businesses. WIS is a leader in developing innovative inventory techniques that provide timely and accurate inventory information for our customers. Nearly 25 years ago WIS undertook a major conversion of all inventory taking equipment from voice recorders to standard portable electronic calculators. In addition, mini computers were installed in processing centers, bar code scanning services were added and in-store PC's were utilized to report UPC data. WIS invests heavily in traning programs to support and enhance our services. There are currently six divisions, 15 regions, and approximately 150 offices employing over 10,000 people. | |
