DESCRIPTION: Third Wave is a leading provider of products and technologies for analyzing genetic variations. Our patented Invader® operating system offers several advantages over conventional technologies. The Invader operating system can detect and quantify both DNA and RNA without prior sample amplification by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It is the only platform with sufficient sensitivity and accuracy to: 1) detect the most common forms of genetic variation including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and 2) monitor gene expression directly from genomic or cellular samples. Our Invader operating system is automatable, compatible with existing detection platforms, and available in convenient assay and reagent formats, making it ideally suited for small- and large-scale genetic analysis in the research lab and the clinic.
