DESCRIPTION: Girls Incorporated of Hartford is and after-school and vacation program, providing positive youth development to girls ages 6-18. Girls Inc. helps inner-city girls increase their ability to learn, establish goals and achieve success. We believe that all girls and young women are capable of acheiving their full potential if the social, cultural and legal barriers to their success are realized and addressed. We provide intentional progamming in the following areas: math, science and relevant technology; adolescent pregnancy prevention; sexual abuse prevention training; media literacy; theater/creative and cultural arts; career awareness; substance abuse prevention; eceonomic literacy; music & movement. | |
