DESCRIPTION: TEACH FOR AMERICA is a national corps of leaders who commit to teach for two years in the nation's most underserved school systems. We have 1,300 openings for new corps members this year and currently have about 2,000 corps members teaching across the country. OUR MISSION IS TWOFOLD: *Our corps members teach for two years in schools where they are most needed while being paid a full salary. *After teaching our corps members become advocates for education from a number of different sectors. We have over 6,000 alumni, some who have gone on to Medical school, Law school, Politics, and private sector business.
