DESCRIPTION: Girls Incorporated of Lynn has been operating programs and advocating for girls since 1942. We are a local affiliate of the national organization, Girls Incorporated, formerly Girls Club of America. Our Mission To build girls' capacity for responsible and confident adulthood, economic independence and personal fulfillment Whom Do We Serve: Last year we served over 4,000 young people, ages 6-18, in our various programs, at our center, in schools and in other community locations. Why did we change our name?. The name change occurred for the following reason: Boys Club of America was allowed in a settlement with Girls Clubs of America to change its name to Boys and Girls Clubs of America. We wanted a name and image that better reflects who we are today and a name that clearly distinguishes us from Boys and Girls Clubs of America. | |
