DESCRIPTION: For 50 years, the mission of RFB&D has been to create opportunities for individual success by providing, and promoting the effective use of, accessible educational materials to people who are blind, visually impaired, people with learning disabilities and people with physical disabilities which prevent holding a book.. In the early days, RFB&D provided recorded textbooks to veterans blinded in World War II who attended college under the G.I. Bill of Rights. Since then their services have expanded greatly, so that now we provide recorded and computerized educational texts to almost 90,000 consumers around the country. Today, RFB&D serves not only blind people, but also those with perceptual and other physical disabilities. We also offer our services to print-disabled adults and to professionals who wish to keep current in their chosen field. | |
