DESCRIPTION: Hugo Neu Corporation is a privately held firm whose principle operations are in metals recycling and industrial real estate. HNC, with its joint ventures and affiliates, is the largest recycler and exporter of steel scrap in the United States. Its major processing centers are in New York, Port Newark, Boston, Providence, Los Angeles, and Honolulu. Utilizing a fully integrated processing technology, HNC fragmentizes over 1.5 million tons annually of automobiles, appliances, structural iron and other industrial scrap to produce seperately clean ferrous and non-ferrous scrap as well as aluminum zinc, copper, and stainless scrap by-products. HNC also processes an additional 1.5 million tons of of other types of steel and stainless scrap. The processed metals are sold domestically or exported with the steel scrap being sold to steel mills and foundaries throughout the world to be resmelted and used in making new steel. | |
