DESCRIPTION: Northwestern Michigan College, located a short walk from Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, MI, is a comprehensive community college providing three major types of education: A transfer program of study, or the equivalent of the first two years of study; an occupational curriculum offering a wide variety of one and two-year programs for students whose immediate plans are to enter careers immediately after graduation; and a large program of non-credit and training courses through its Extended Educational Services Division and the Center for Business and Industry. NMC also provides a strong system of student support services, including academic advising/counseling, career counseling, job placement assistance, special needs, health services, and admissions/financial aid support.
