DESCRIPTION: Indo Phil, the first Indian-Filipino joint venture textile plant in the Philippines, went on stream in 1975, set up by the late Mr. Aditya Vikram Birla. A fruition of his global vision, long before the word globalization entered the lexicon of the corporate world. Indo Phil in 1975, commenced operations with approximately 15,500 spindles and 500 employees. As the unit grew from strength to strength, more spindles were added. In February 1988, anew parallel unit based on the state-of-the-art technology was flagged. Indo Phil is consisting of three companies, namely: ¿ INDO PHIL TEXTILE MILLS, INC. (IPTMI), established in 1975 ¿ INDO PHIL ACRYLIC MANUFACTURING CORP. (IPAMC), established in 1990 ¿ INDO PHIL COTTON MILLS, INC. (IPCMI), established in 1993 To ensure self sufficiency in power and meet the growing power needs of the various mills, 12.4 MW Power Plant was commissioned in September 1994. This stands expanded to 24.8 MW currently. | |
