DESCRIPTION: Canada Overview Motorola, Inc. selected Canada as the site for its first international expansion in 1947. What began as a product distributorship became the Canadian Motorola Electronics Company. Over the years, it prospered and grew into Motorola Canada Ltd., a large and diverse company that included sales, marketing, engineering, product development and manufacturing operations, serving markets around the world. In the 1990s, Motorola Canada transformed itself into a knowledge-based company, leveraging Canada's unique blend of engineering expertise and social diversity. Currently, Motorola Canada has over 700 employees, and operates offices in major urban centres across the country. Of these, two are engineering design centres that specialize in developing hardware and software for products for Motorola's worldwide markets. | |
