DESCRIPTION: Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute is a 127-bed, public psychiatric hospital, opened in 1968 to serve adults in Northern Virginia who are experiencing a serious mental illness. Our practice environment is characterized by teamwork. Staff members work together to design unit work schedules. In addition, nursing staff have opportunities to become actively involved in nursing councils that establish standards of care and practice, plan educational programs and identify opportunities to continuously improve nursing care outcomes. | |
