DESCRIPTION: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia, Inc. has been helping to improve the lives and futures of children and families since 1966. Using comprehensive screening methods and on-going support by a professional staff, we have served children and youth from all levles of society, with adult volunteers. Over the years, the Big Brothers Big Sisters services have grown to include many different approaches, but one thing has remained constant-our belief that we impart seeds into the lives of children that in time, blossom into everlasting change. Financial support from area businesses as well as civic organizations and individuals enable us to continue to serve the youth and families of the Greater Columbia area. | |
| MISSION: The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to promote positive youth development and strengthen family support systems by providing one-to-one and group mentoring/educational relationships between adult volunteers and children ages 6 to 18. | |
