DESCRIPTION: A multi-media experience, imagenation was created to fill a void in independent film exhibition by addressing the needs of under-served artists and consumers in search of diverse representations of people of color. Conscious of the messages sent by the films we program, imagenation provides an alternative to frequently dispersed Hollywood and corporate misrepresentations of communities of color. Our primary goal is to provide a vehicle for exhibiting cinematic works by independent filmmakers from the Afrikan Diaspora while presenting alternative images of communities of color. | |
