DESCRIPTION: HAP, Inc. is an innovative, regional nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to improve the quality of life by improving housing conditions for all residents of Hampden and Hampshire Counties, particularly low-income households, those with special needs, and those who face discrimination. Housing is a basic human right which is integral to the well-being of both the individual and the community. HAP seeks to eliminate physical, economic, and social barriers, insuring a broad and diverse choice of decent, safe and affordable housing that meets each individual's needs. HAP works to accomplish this by providing a comprehensive array of services to assist people in securing adequate housing at an affordable price; promoting the creation and preservation of affordable housing; and forging partnerships with public officials, community groups, and private institutions to build broad-based support and public policies which provide full access to housing opportunities. | |
