DESCRIPTION:
The Mono Lake Committee an environmental non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of Mono Lake through advocacy and education. Our office is located in Lee Vining, CA, at an elevation of 6,700 feet, just east of Yosemite National Park at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the western edge of the Great Basin. The Mono Lake Committee is one of the most successful regional environmental advocacy groups in the world, and we rely on an excellent summer seasonal staff to make our education programs first-rate!


MISSION:
The Mono Lake Committee is a non-profit citizens' group dedicated to protecting and restoring the Mono Basin ecosystem, educating the public about Mono Lake and the impacts on the environment of excessive water use, and promoting cooperative solutions that protect Mono Lake and meet real water needs without transferring environmental problems to other areas.
